Spacious room - we were upgraded for a miniscule extra charge. Relaxed eating. Good food. Lots of outdoor space. Child friendly.
It's a cheap upgrade to a motel and this shows in places.
Dining room, general style of the hotel.
Food was quite expensive
The best thing was that you could walk across the road to the beach, and there were lots of cycle lanes and footpaths to use.
We loved the seaside decor of the hotel (think driftwood!). The room was lovely and comfortable especially the bed. The location across from the beach is lovely. We had some beautiful walks on the sand. The evening meal was value for money . The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We think it was a very good value one night break with the special offer of £85 on Booked.nete,. The breakfast was superb .
It was very convenient at Rye Golf Club. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
It was disappointing to find that I was charged at a rate some 40% higher than others in the same party.
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful without exception. Excellent position plus buses running outside to trips to Folkstone or Hastings.
Didn't like the lack of wardrobes in bedrooms. Not so keen on the choice of menu (didn't have dinner at Hotel). Felt it was an Hotel for younger couples
It was lovely to find such a comfortable and well managed hotel in an old setting. Dinner was superb and a selection of dishes prepared for breakfast.
On checking out and paying the bill for the stay and dinner I left a large (in my opinion) tip for the service received. I think the receptionist might have mentioned that similar amount had already been charged to my bill as a service charge. (My fault I know for not checking)
The hotel was very clean and the staff in the restaurant were very helpful
The bedrooms and corridors were very dreary and drab - all grey and brown. The room was noisy as it was right next tothe car park. I specifically called and was advised that wheat free bread would be available at breakfsat and it wasn't.
Amazing breakfasts, the fact that our baby monitor worked in the restaurant
Very minor, room as quite small
The food was inspired and delicious, staff were friendly and rooms were comfortable and full of character.
Location suited us perfectly..close to golf course and next to lovely beach.
Restaurants in the area are pricey....
staff very good , breakfast really good too.rooms have personel touches like books to read ,you get the feeling they are trying hard to please
road noise inspite of double glazing
Unusual hotel in great location. Excellent food and wine. We stayed during the Scallop Festival and much enjoyed the special menu for dinner. Also appreciated touches like the home-made preserves at breakfast and large cafetiere of real coffee. We would certainly return.
Efficient friendly staff, nice atmosphere with enticing menu and high quality food. Room 2 cosy with classy touches. Good hotel for a by the sea getaway. Bit of a find and would return again with the Mrs!!
Just wish we could have stayed longer! very friendly staff, impeccable service, decor beachy chic and cosy . Food was fantastic ! will definitely go back and have no reservations in recommending this hotel . Wished we lived closer so that we could become regulars at the resturant.
